For Lucy's very first Independence Day, we all went to Old Town Manassas for some fireworks and fun!!! It was a really fun night and the kids BOTH fell asleep on the way home! (That's the important thing! hee hee)

Jack and Daddy in matching festive outfits. They played frisbee AND soccer in front of the Manassas Museum before the fireworks began:

Lucy and Mommy sat on our blanket and played. She LOVED rolling around on the blanket but also really liked getting to the edge and pulling up grass!!! I think she thought it was hair cuz she pulled at it and tried to eat it the same way she does when she pulls on people's hair. She was laughing the whole time she was sitting with me:

Before going to Peter's house to eat and watch the Fireworks, we stopped and let Jack climb on the train in Old Town. He LOVED it and did NOT want to leave. We had to lie and tell him that the fireworks were about to start just to get him off of it!! :-)

Lucy LOVED the lights the fireworks made but did not love the sounds so much. Luckily, since we were at Peter's house, we took her just inside and watched the fireworks through the glass door. She was much happier this way. Keith and I took turns sitting with Jack outside and holding Lucy inside. When Lucy calmed down, Jack brought her out again to switch with me and she was NOT a happy camper. So he just took her right back in. heh.

Our view of the fireworks: (kinda blurry, but you get the idea)

Jack loved the fireworks. It got a little loud for his taste during the finally (when he made this face and then covered his ears), but other than that he really enjoyed watching them. I'm glad to know the fireworks are growing on him. Last year, he made us watch them from the car so he didn't have to hear them!!!!!
